The Lochaber Gold Mining Company reported a belt of slate and quartz 21 m wide showing good gold. The leads are found in a syncline near the top of the Goldenville Formation The strata dip south 60-70°, and north 55°. Most of the work was done on a vein with a north dip of 55°. The dip decreased to 48° with depth, and the vein pinched out at the syncline

Historic mining operations at the Lochaber Gold Prospect resulted in a total reported production of 2.25 oz Au from 5 tons crushed.
